Hi Melissa, I live in Oregon too….. in the south, in Ashland. I am just looking for for some folks to connect with locally, if you have an interest.

My explorations in recent years have included also my explorations of the planets, in concert with them.

Though references may attribute a certain plant to a certain sign or planet of astrology, I feel and sense that the plants, like probably all life here, engages all the planetary energies as do us humans.

Each of us has a more dominant planetary expression, which may vary some throughout the transits, seasons, or periods of Life. I enjoy dancing with both perceptions of plants and planets together. I find it brings a depth and richness to my understandings of both, and reveals ever more depths and collaborative properties, affinities, ways of being, by engaging with this broader language and perception.

This is such a great description, thank you! And just a note, the ricer described is an oldie but goodie that can exert a good amount of pressure. It is not a flimsy modern one.

I so relate to this…..the many hours pulling and pulling. I am now in a locale where it doesn’t grow naturally so I can only revisit it in memory. One of my strong memories of this plant is the strong tenacious root system of many roots spreading out and deep. And also its incredibly tough stems. It needs to be that to withstand the prairie winds and hold its flowers tall tall and aloft pointing to the sun. This toughness and ability to be pliable and not breakable has me curious if it may have affinities to the tough connective tissues, like ligaments, or even bone. Intuitively, I keep getting ‘circulatory’ with a feeling of the vessels and their toughness and capacity to move and retain shape and hierarchies while still functioning fully in our mobile bodies, and even with some traumas. As I reflect with these perceptions, Saturn and it’s signs of Capricorn and Aquarious arise as areas to explore. Though Leo with the arterial association also arises, along with the very sunny aspects of this sun loving plant, with its mini suns reflecting back to the big one in the sky.
